AccessibilityTester - An App for Improving User Experience for Visually Impaired Users
AccessibilityTester is a free Android app developed by Glitch. It is designed to help app developers, testers, and designers to improve the user experience for visually impaired users. It offers an interactive way to check how screen readers see the screen, and quickly identifies possible issues.
This app shows all the elements that would be read out, and in which order. It also shows if buttons are pronounced as touch targets, and finds common accessibility mistakes, such as too small touch targets and missing content descriptions. The interactivity of this app makes it easy to check and can run along with any other screen reader.
However, it's important to note that AccessibilityTester requires Accessibility Service permission, which allows it to observe your actions, retrieve window content, and observe text that you type. This app uses the AccessibilityService API to collect all information presented on the screen. Nonetheless, none of this data is saved or shared with third parties.
